Stans Alpha 340 Rim

Does anyone know why Stans stop making the alpha 340 rim? - just curious if anyone knows or has a theory...

Dunno if this is the official reason but imo they weren't very strong rims.

yeah, I'd agree on not the strongest, but for light riders, seemed stable enough and a good weight advantage, though certainly possible they discontinued them for that reason.

The spoke bed on the original 340's was too thin and developed cracks around all of the spoke holes. They still have some 18h 340's for sale, but they weigh 385 grams now. https://www.notubes.com/alpha-340-rims
