ALERT: SDU Electric Bike - Fork Stanchion Misalignment Quality Defect
My neighbor bought an e-Bike from Amazon. The shipping label says SDU Electric Bike, Model: SDREAM T BT35A1. Being the local bike mechanic into my fifth decade of bike building and repair, they asked me to assemble it out of the box. Whoa!!! The suspension fork stanchions were welded up to their support arch, each with a twist. Severe misalignment. I'll post photos in a moment from my phone.
This fork should never have passed quality check at the component level, much less at the bike level. It should never have been boxed and shipped. Beware!!!
EDIT: In the photos, the fork crown is pointed "straight forward", meaning that it's normal to the line of the travel.

Note the straight edge on the ground. It's co-planar with the main triangle.

It's easy to say that, but there are plenty of factories in China that are turning out great bikes that are sold at every price point. This is beyond the pale...
