Question: When is a fixie not a real fixie

Answer: When you are too lazy to remove the shifters!

This one could be saved but at that price? And the flat tires? And $300 and can't clean it? Italics are mine.

Ad copy: Nishiki road bike, small frame, meant for someone 5’6” to 5’10” maybe. The seat is ripped, the frame is dirty and scratched up. The tires are flat and the bars need new wrap. The bike is very light weight, it has fixed speed wheels (fixie). The crank and rear brake is exage motion. Made in Japan. The bike needs a good bath. Yes it’s still for sale, I’ll remove the ad the minute it’s sold. I’m not answering anymore questions . This is for restoration.

but wait!!

There is more.

Seller has another ad and a very touching one too

Wanted - Free Bicycles for my Teenager

Ad copy: Help me get my teenager interested in something that doesn’t require an internet connection. Looking for free bicycles either complete or in need of some attention. If it’s a project even better. I can pick it up, if you’re throwing it out I’ll take it. I’m willing to pay for old school BMX bikes/parts.

Answer: When you are too lazy to remove the shifters!
Answer (2): When the seller doesn't know what "fixie" means. There's clearly a freewheel, and he says it has "fixed speed wheels", IOW, randomly-selected bicycle-related buzzwords that mean nothing when put together.

Not sure what Fiorelli refers to, not that it matters...

Yep, $550 for the Campy Atala... "Hope springs eternal in the human breast" *****Is it old enough that the brakes or .... are desirable? Maybe the hubs? Don't tell me that's a rare and valuable Campy Dork Disk....

^^^^^ "Good vibrations" shook the bike to pieces? +1, tape off the area and draw a chalk outline around each part.

Half a Univega bike. Chain is rusty. Front wheel and tire are good.
Back wheel & tire were stolen so those are gone. So is the seat.

In case you hadn't seen enough of these......

On FB Marketplace this morning. Said they only rode it once or twice. Gee, I wonder why? Sent them a message to let them know it might be more enjoyable to ride of the fork was pointed the right way.

Definitely worth $650 it's rare it's custom, yada, yada...Frame number “104”

Serial number 104-61-79-TA

Don’t know what “TA “ stands for?

Had Superbe and Campagnolo wheel set. Rode really nice!

Top tube shows faintly underneath the powder coat where a cable guide has been replaced and a couple small pits.

Has been thoroughly sand blasted before powder coating.

I suspect some of the tubing was salvaged from another bike and used with new lugs and parts. I can see on the top tube where the old cable guides were and new ones brazed on .

A beautiful classic

Powder Coat? Looks like the yellow "powder coat" is about to start dripping off, it's so thick. Except where it is thin enough to see through. Must have been good though, it had that " superbe and campagnolo wheelset"

I'm a big Schwinn fan but I'm not sure if the "collector's dream" is this $280.00, 40-pound tank or the saddle on it.

That wasn't worth $50 BEFORE they hacked the top tube out of the frame! Awesome "engineering" on those braces.......
