New guy in Spokane, WA

Hey everyone, name is Dillon and Im in Spokane Washington. I have been a more serious cyclist for 10years. I say more serious because who didnt ride bikes as a kid, but im no where near as serious as some here Im sure. I typically just ride for fun and errands.

My cycling enthusiasm started after I returned home from my 4 years in the Air Force in 08. I reconnected with an old friend and we started mountain biking a lot. I had a Giant Talon 29er that soon became an extension of my body. It was not a big deal for me to rip across town for beers and back home, which was at times a 40mile round trip. As time went on and times got hard I ended up selling the Giant, and regretting it. In the last 4 years I have gotten back into cycling but not much beyond recreation. I currently ride an SE Draft Lite, I love the simplicity of a single speed. And recently I just got my wife to start riding with me, which brings me TONS of joy (we just got her a bike at our local bike swap, an old Seattle bike share Ofo 3 speed. Partly because the price was right ($75) and it is the only bike we found that fit her).

Other stuff about me, Im a big time gear head, currently working on an old Corvette for a track car in some of my spare time and I work as a heavy duty truck technician. I am also very active with the local waterkeeper chapter, the Spokane Riverkeeper. I am also a 4 year Air Force veteran, 3 years as an air frame mechanic and 1 year as honor guard. My other hobbies are trail running and ancient religion and mythology studies.

Anyway, hopefully Ill get to meet some new people, learn some stuff, and become a part of a community here.
