Recovering from back surgery

Good evening!
i found this forum after looking to see what year my old vintage Bianchi is, but I know that’s is a topic for another forum!
im 31 living in Portland,or
i just had back surgery two weeks ago and looking to get back on my bike when I’m healed. I’ve gone down a bicycle rabbit hole since hurting my back. I’ve always been a fan of spin classes but no so much riding, aside from the causal ride. I’ve only ever owned vintage steel, not out of choice but that’s just what seems to fall in my lap. I’ll be looking for a newer bike in the next few months after I’m healed, but in the mean time I want to get my old Bianchi into fighting shape.
i am hoping to use these forum to meet local riders, and to inform myself further than GCN YouTube videos.
thanks!

Welcome, hope your recovery goes well. Between 1999 and 2007 I had 4 spinal surgeries. I still ride my bikes, averaging about 4000 miles per year. I started doing most of the maintenance on my bikes 2 years ago, Bikeforums.com has been a great source for info and advice

Welcome @Dontouchmytape and keep healing! Lots of Portlanders in the C&V. I had my spine fused in my late fifties but will be dealing with permanent nerve damage for the duration. Riding has helped immensely. I like your user name.

Hi and welcome. I hope you find the right bike soon. I recently bought a new hybrid myself. It was a much needed spirit lifter after a long awful winter.
