I'm keeping these as an investment along with the Beanie Babies and Cabbage Patch Kids. I have a hunch they may be worth a fortune in the future as all those cheap plastic ones will have been cut off and discarded! Real chrome and heavy too which adds momentum once you get up to speed!

recently broke a rear spoke not sure how and sent the rear wheel out of true not sure how and the tech asked if i wanted the disk removed cuz it wasn't fully attached and rattling a little. it didn't bother me but agreed cuz I knew the rear derailleur adjustment was rock solid. I am extra cautious though and have been eyeballing that chain location. hoping it wasn't a mistake

My lbs took the freakin dork disk off my bike when they warrantied my rear wheel. i asked the tech don't i need that? no was the response given. living in florida i never use that gear so i'm fine with the disk removed.
one less thing to wash and keep clean imo.

You can probably set the limit screw in and even Block that last Cog.
Mangled spokes is more important event to skip happening, particularly if on a Bike tour a Long way from a new Wheel..
but if fashion is your priority go for it. take the consequences as they may arise.

Why on Earth would you even want to do that? Or did Big Wheels in DC offer you a job?
Bikes require occasional maintenance. Keep on with your bike, and not having a disc won't be an issue.

My general rule is to leave them alone until the plastic dries out and they just crumble off of the bike, at which point I don't replace them.
