Eh, Cannondale is made in China. That made in USA thing only exists on shop signs - maybe they are made in USA. Does that make them bad bikes? No.
As far as choosing between cross country hardtails. Do as an earlier poster suggested: ride them and compare the component specs. The one that feels better/had better components is the one you should buy.
At any given price point, the quality of frames are highly unlikely to be meaningfully different between otherwise similar bikes.

To clarify some of the misinformation: Most cannondale aluminum frames are still built in the US. Their full carbon stuff like the carbon rush come from overseas.
I'd probably go with the GT Zaskar. I have a lefty DLR-2 on my F-series bike and it has been a maintenance nightmare, although it does perform well when its not leaking all over the place. The lockout also migrates to the locked-out position and a Cannondale factory service didn't fix it or cover it under warrenty (they charged me for shipping + the rebuild) even though it was clearly a design fault. Be forewarned, but I have no idea about the headshok. I might be courting some controversy by saying this, but 80mm forks don't cut it anymore even for XC racing.
