first time I took the GRE. the b**ch wouldn't let me in because I didn't have my green card. there goes $175. but nevermind that. why are undergraduate and graduate admission partially hinged on a worthless standardized test that tests for 4th grade math using 7th grade logic, and a whole bunch of obsolete words that nobody uses in the real world?
btw, the tests are still paper based overseas, and cheating is a real issue. it happens every year.
everything ETS, princeton review (which has nothing to do with Princeton University btw), baron, etc. all leeches on society

My adviser, when I was in grad school, wanted me to re-take GREs so I can get a higher compensation package, and pointed to his golden boy and how hard he was studding. I politely said **** no.

I wonder if they are trying to be "politically correct" and mean the first black rider? Bahatti had posted something on facebook about it

I know a couple of white British guys who grew up in Africa, the way Paul Sherwen and Chris Froome did, and they call themselves African, but it sits a little uneasily. It's fair to say that "identifying as African" is a topic that has some controversy attached to it.
I think Teklehaimanot is the first Tour rider to hold a jersey while racing with a passport from an African nation. Kind of a shame that it has to be parsed like that, but there it is.

Linguistic politics aside, Teklehaimanot is from Eritrea which is like the poster child for impoverished war-torn countries. Making it to the pinnacle of a very difficult sport is an amazing accomplishment and he deserves credit and recognition for it.

Can you guys keep the tour talk in the pro cycling thread please? I already can't look at facebook until after I watch the stage in the evening, if I can't come here either, I'm going to actually have to work.
thanks.

I feel like you're actually talking about Nicolas Dougall. He spent a few summers here racing in the Pro 1/2 for the MTNQ continental team. Actually got signed to the Pro Conti team this year. https://norcalcyclingnews.com/words/w...-Cats-Hill.jpg

meron russom was on MTN in 2014 and has been around in the Bay Area this year (at least earlier this year). I'm pretty sure he did snelling. He came out for the HOP ride a few times. Most of us amateur idiots were gutted as usual, he was on the tops like he was riding a beach cruiser

Why is she a b**ch? Because she enforced the testing policies that she is hired to enforce? It's not her fault you failed to bring your green card.

Doesn't Froome claim he is British? He's often described as a Kenyan-born British rider.

I believe Froome went to represent GB because of the massive support they have for cyclists. Kenya, not so much.
I watched a documentary and Froome wasn't some entitled white kid in Africa, he trained with the locals, and went up the ranks like any other person would.

I just realized that I have four races between tonight and next Saturday, and after that, the season is basically over. There's really nothing else on the local calendar.
I guess that means I'll have a really long offseason to prep for next season.
