Conley Mtb-Tange 90's - Fork Repair

Was at the local thrift store looking for housewares. Saw a mountain bike that looked clean. On close inspection it was obviously a garage queen. Deore DX 7 speed components setup. Just labeled Conley 'Craft in USA'. Tubing label is Tange MTB OS. 29.4 seat post. 1 1/8" quill stem. The fork is an issue. It's collapsed. It lacks any spring or dampening. It's labeled 'STRUTS suspension'. Any possibility for fork resurrection? Couldn't find online info on the Conley brand.

It was probably a RockShox or other generic brand. SOME types from that era had rebuild kits. Any info stamped in the steerer tube? That might narrow down the mfr.

Depending on the geometry, you might be better off with a rigid fork.

Haven't torn it down. that's helpful. Additional note is that the the brake cable brace at the fork crown is labeled 'Tange USA'

^^^^^^ +1; So the fork is a Tange brand, Strut model. Looks like the elastomer kit is still available - https://www.suspensionforkparts.net/eshop/tange/tange-strut-s/gs-elastomer-refresh-kit.html?review=write&product_id=94 .

Manual - https://suspensionforkparts.net/manua...Tange_S_GS.pdf

Only 40 mm of travel - so is it worth the expense/work, vs. a rigid?

Hey - you're over 10 posts. And your find has definite cool/oddball factor. You are hereby required to post pics.

That sounds like an excellent plan. Now to find that long Allen wrench the came with my Specialized air/oil fork in the id 90's.

What icon? Where? What is done with it?

I've searched for computer directions. I don't see clear recipes that describe a step by step recipe that goes from point A to point B. They all assume some of the steps are intuitive. 'just download" what? where? how? with ? .........'just click on the icon', 'just right click', 'convert to JPEG' 'get the app'. All assuming that the reader knows some of the intermediary actions.

I can take a picture. Then what is each step from there? Each and every step without assuming anything.

Reading how to do computer functions is like a brownie recipe that says mix the ingredients and put it in the oven.
