BB30 and Ultegra Cranks

Thinking about upgrading my CAAD-9 cranks to Shimano Ultegra's to match the rest of my now Frankenbike's components. What else will I need to buy, if anything to handle this kind of switch? The CAAD-9 runs a BB30.

Note: Not much beyond a bike tinkerer, so this may be outside my capabilities. Or perhaps not! Unsure entirely.

Bikes: Too many. Giant Trance X 29, Surly Midnight Special get the most time.

There are adapters that basically install a threaded interface into the BB30 bearings but they're somewhat prone to creak. I'd recommend getting a single-piece or thread together BB30 to HTII bottom bracket, like https://www.bbinfinite.com/products/...ant=9864658179 or https://wheelsmfg.com/bottom-bracket...ano-black.html . You'll need to be comfortable banging out the old BB bearings and installing the new BB, which in the case of a single piece BB will probably require a BB bearing press, and in the case of a thread together BB the appropriate splined BB tool.

No, that's not how it works. You can put a BB30 crank into the bearings OR you can put machined delrin adapters to sleeve it down to 24.0mm. Or you can knock out the bearings and retainer clips and put in a thread together adapter. Which is LESS likely to creak...if assembled correctly. Your recommendations are good, your knowledge of how it works...not so much.

Thanks. Sounds like this might best be done by the LBS guy, not a tinkerer hobbyist. Ha.
