Rode 11 miles on the Minuteman with Ellen, who's breaking in her Clem-L. No pictures of this one, but it was the rolling equivalent of a stroll in the park. I rode the Ebisu, and concluded that I really need to replace that binder bolt: the saddle height isn't quite as optimal as I was trying to convince myself it was... Put it in the basement at the end of the ride, we'll see if I can coax that bolt out without drilling.

Thanks. I just got clipless pedals so I'm really trying not to stop much. I guess it's really not that hard to clip out and back in again now that I figured out that the guy at the shop put my cleats on upside down. I fixed them but it was 4 very frustrating days of wanting to throw the pedals out a window.
Definitely worth practicing clipping/unclipping especially when you can do it with anticipation. The worst I remember from going clipless is when you have to unclip unexpectedly and you can't do it easily - that's the only fall I've taken as a result of clipless - a few days after starting and I had to stop abruptly because of some need like a car stopping/not stopping unexpectedly)

my sportcam has a time lapse mode. if I ever take another bike ride (sarcastic), gonna try making a gif from a series that way. should be interesting experimenting with various time settings

mounting versatility is a plus. I have a sportcam with quick release mounts on my bars & my helmet. so, while riding, without stopping, I can move it from mount to mount or hand hold it

I bought a GoPro years ago for Autocross, so I just had to put a mount on the bike. Most of the footage ends up in the bitbucket, but I'll grab stills from the video and post here, and occasionally a video.

Friday, took the LHT and rode East. Lots of urban riding and hill-climbing, few photos. Did get this one, though, from Mysterious Medford.
The wind had its moments today, often wanting to steer. Once, encountered a sharp cross-wind while executing a turn, and had the unnerving sensation that the bike had suddenly gotten lighter. Was reminded of Elvira Gulch riding her bicycle in the tornado. Told myself jokes about "planing" after that, and tried not to cackle.

Windy commute home yesterday. No pics, no turkey encounters.
It appears the derelict farm on the top of the hill between Lexington and Woburn is being converted to housing. The building on the south side of the road has already been torn down and the greenhouses on the north side are surrounded by fencing and big backhoe equipment. The house on the hill, which I always took to be the old farmhouse, has a sign mumbling about housing of the future or some such marketing nonsense. I didn't take the time to read it, just glanced as I rode by.

my first time going around was an accident. I wound up there & figured I would give it a try. seemed OK & it's an important piece of a convenient 30 mile loop. so I don't avoid it. glad tho, that I only have to jump in for a quick little bit of it

Wow it was a hot one today. Managed the 12.5 mile loop around the lake. It seems like it's uphill both ways but I know it's not. Iced coffee break at the midpoint.

I packed the Smoothie on my roof rack and headed down to the CCRT before picking the kids up for the grandparents. It was cool, dreadfully windy and the pollen coated the trail, myself, and my Smoothie in a dull sneezy eye watering green. The wnd was visibly shaking clouds of pollen from the trees to join the swirling mass of pollen already in the air. My greyish blue shirt and gloves had taken on a green hue. It felt like being in a Kuwaiti sandstorm again albeit green instead of tan. I racked the Smoothie after 49 miles just as it began raining. Coming down from yesterday's sunny warm long ride high today's ride won't go down as a great Sunday ride.

This mornings 30 mile ride on my Boone 7 cross bike was wet. It drizzled the whole time except for a few minutes stretch in Lincoln when it was raining steadily. It was nice knowing that it wasn't to be followed by a day at work. After 20 miles of solitude I crossed paths with a few other wet cyclists.

No pictures because I didn't want him to get too far ahead of me on the flats.
