Curtlo CX bike built up around 2003. I tried racing on it early on and did some mtb races with it as well. Lately though it is my go to ride for short or long rides and for pulling the kids in the trailer.

Amazing! Take some pictures of it when it gets dirty.
Stoked to have Mike Zanconato build me a super cool new bike. Custom steel lugged xxl frame (I'm 6'5"). This was one of Zank's show bikes at the 2011 NAHBS, which just ended in Austin, TX. The bike also features Zank's custom close ratio cross chainrings. The outer ring is a 44. Inner is a 38. Set of pictures here.

Bikes: 1 Custom built Colin Laing, a Waterford Paramount & my favorite of the bunch...a 90's TREK women's multitrack, cheap, 21 spds & I can leave her locked up anywhere w/o worrying about theft.

right now it's still has a stock drive train but I plan to get a 53/39 crankset, profile design fast foward seatpost and BONTRAGER race light cyclocross handlebars in 46cm within a couple weeks. Right now i have drop bar ends on it, I cut down my stock bar to about 19 inches and put road bike brakes as well as cane creek inline brakes cause I like to rest my hands on the tops when i'm riding easy. I have changed the stock tires to 700x25 forte pro+ road tires since I mostly ride on smoother terrian. So far I can reach 27mph pretty easily. I hope that will increase when I get a new crank on there. I'm just trying to figure out if i'm gonna have to change everything since it's a 9 speed. I'd like to put a 10 speed crankset on there. 9 speed crank set would be fine but I can't find any that have a 53 chainring.

Just flip the inside chainring on the 10spd setup. I've been running it like this with my 9 stuff for a couple years, works great. Otherwise you'll get some rubbage in the lower gears.

Just finished building. Still need to position bars and chop steerer, and find my electrical tape to finish the bar wrap properly instead of using painter's tape.
It's a wee bit monstercross-y.
I live in a high-rise so I don't have a garage to take pix in front of; so here's pix in front on my elevator doors.

I installed new handlebars and came up with a solution for mounting my trigger shifters. It's just a piece of copper tubing cute down to size and some hose clamps. I wraped some white tape around it and stuck some extra end caps on the sides.

I weigh 230 pounds and put some hurt on a bike. I've been using an old IRO high flange hub on my beater wheelset, so I opted to try these out. A few of us on the C&A forum are fairly certain the rims are just unbadged Velocity Fusions (same weight and specs) and the hubs are super smooth. I've been beating on these for a few months, and aside from an initial tensioning (they came in very under-tensioned for my taste*) and a 200 mile tune-up, they're solid. I had them on my roadie ss rig before this, and I took them for a couple test rides to really beat 'em up this week. Went barhopping with my teammates, and while waiting for one guy to fix a flat I was jumping a banked curb and catching about a foot of air. Not much, except for the fact that I'm 230 pounds and don't always land gracefully. The wheels are fine. The next day I rode to work on this bike and hit the muddy/sandy equestrian trail. With the exception of my gearing being a tad on the high side for such muck, things performed admirably. The wheels are solid, and at the going price they're a steal.
*Spoke tension was around 80KgF from IRO. Not unreasonable for a lighter rider, but I prefer to keep my spoke tension between 90 - 95KgF at my weight.

Awesome, thanks for the report back. At $15 a pop I had to get them. I have some older XT hubs sitting around so I'm going to build a news commuter/ muddy cross wheel set.

Those are silver. If you look through the pictures they show all the colors. Mine will be here on Tuesday. I'll report back then.
