Oh yeah forgot to mention; the finger waving in my vid by the blue/white guy was because my team mate attacked for a prime for the break.

Which would normally be dumb, but he was going for omnium points. Blue/white guy should've known that his team mate is the guy we're trying to gain points on, and should've tried to take the prime away.

It's going better. Fitness seems to be the best tactic.

Hey Domestique, I like your video's, great production value.

I do feel your positioning is what cost you in the end though. You were third or fourth wheel thoughout it seems, and often not ideally tucked in.

Also, it seems that your team tried a tactic, and sticked to it. That is great. And great learning. The attack-and-counterattack is a fun strategy to do. But it does mean that in the second to last lap you had to commit to it. Your teammate was just caught, that was the moment for you to go. At 4:49 was another moment to go. But of course, you have to have the legs for it.

Great fun though!

I still don't understand the stuff you're saying. Why do you expect anyone (not on your team) to listen to you?

I assume these are practice crits and he's just having fun, and captions like "the group is not interested in my advice" are tongue in cheek. Alternative possibility is that he's one of those pack general type of guys that everybody wants to stab to death, but I prefer the first interpretation.

Yes, tongue-in-cheek. I don't believe the second is true. Guys are actually really nice and openly thankful to have someone chopping up the race so they can show their friends. There are a large number of racers who credit the videos as the reason they had the confidence to come out.

This field has a tendency to chase everything that moves, including guys who have no fitness or attack at odd times. I was simply reminding them they a lap 2 attack has little chance of success.

Sounds good. "Let him go so we can have some fun" is certainly something I've thought in the past, if not said out loud.

it was hard to move up towards the end, and I started my sprint too far back to have a chance.

Maybe a clipped pedal and a bit of wobble before the crash. There's a bit of rounding on the inside of that corner and if you weren't ready for it you could easily clip a pedal or get a bit of bounce when seated.

No. We knew who had lapped. Tim, the guy we chased, was one of those guys up a lap. That's a really good reminder for all of us. It's hard to remember sometimes when you're suffering, who's up the road.

It was a bit less, but same deal - not a good deal. My son does it because he likes to, but winning is not so significant for juniors, and not winning/just riding is a very high opportunity for crashing. He rides the front, so a bit safer and I can deal with it, but that may be less than the best position to win.
