White Industries "Tracker" and "Speed Racer" MTB/Touring Hub Set
White Industries "Tracker" and "Speed Racer" MTB/Touring Hub Set
=======================================================
PayPal (F&F free or 4% paid by buyer) or Venmo accepted.
- Rear = Speed Racer hub | Front = Tracker hub
- 32 hole (both); 100mm/135mm
- Rear hub had a 9-speed, Shimano cassette on it previously. I believe these fit 8, 9, or 10-speed but it's best to research on your own for that confirmation.
- Sorry, no skewers
- I replaced bearings, thrust washer, o-ring, pawls and springs in the rear hub and used a trace amount of Phil's Tenacious oil for the rebuild.
- The front did not need a rebuild and is an early White hub. It has no logo but it was confirmed by White to be theirs.
- Both are hand and machined polished to a ridiculous mirror shine.
- Price: $ SOLD $

Pretty decent price drop though I realize this really isn't the group for White products.

I gotta think this is the right forum to sell these hubs.
I’ve got a near identical set on my 89 Panasonic Mountain Cat. Set up for touring.
the White Industries folks set me up with spacer to change the rear hub from 135mm to 130mm.
even though I bought a 30 year old near NOS wheelset, they still worked with me.
I’d scoop these up but my wife might win them in the following divorce proceedings- and smash them right in front of me.

You've got a good point but maybe I wasn't being specific enough. These hubs came off a 1990 Trek 990. Yours are on a Mountain Cat (great rig, by the way). Both vintage MTB/ATB's. These hubs probably belong on a mountain/AT bike but, what I should have spceified, is that the C&V group is way more road than they are trail/dirt/gravel/ATB. Sure, there are plenty of folks who dig that stuff on the forum but the majority is road. So, I feel like these are being passed up. But, they could work just fine as touring hubs, too. There is strong similarity between these and Phil's hubs, yet if they were Phil's—They'd be gone within 24 hours of my first post.
White Industries makes some incredible bearing-related parts. I was so impressed with these hubs that I ordered a new set for an upcoming build. I had loads of questions (bringing the hub to 130mm to fit a 9-speed) and they always had a kind and informative response. Then, in August, I personally met them at MADE in Portland. They emails and their in-person attitudes checked out. Still the same, laid back and incredibly informed group! They clearly don't care about selling someone the latest and greatest. They just want whatever you bought to work for your setup. Nice to hear you got treated the same! Enjoy them on your Panasonic and let me know if you need another set for some back up wheels!

In support....hopefully....of the OP's sale, I'll offer these early White Industries hubs can look great on the right bike. I run these hubs on the Klein Quantum pictured below. Others may not agree, but I think these hubs look right at home with the oversized aluminum tubes of a Klein frame. White offered these hubs with 130 or 135 OLN dimensions. The only difference that I'm aware of is what I'll call the NDS aluminum axle end. As an alternative to securing a replacement 130 mm axle end, it's a simple machining job to modify the 135 mm axle end to fit a 130 mm spaced frame.
The hub pictured below is a different model than offered in the OP's listing. Mine is what I believe to be the "Ti Cassette" model which has a flat profile on the non drive side of the shell. This difference allows an even shorter axle end that I made to fit the 126 mm drop outs of my Klein. 'Running Campy 8 speed in the first photo. See second photo for a look at the factory 130mm axle end and my home brew 126 mm axle end.

I have an idea for a build that these would be perfect on, but life has beaten me up pretty well throughout October, so all fun activities have been put on hold for the time being. Definitely a beautiful set of hubs!

Man, do I know how it is when you've been hit hard by life...
But, Rooney, nothing turns the tides like a new bike build! And starting it off with a special wheel set constructed on the bedrock of White Industries is the right way to begin turning things around for yourself!
Consider them! They are stunning and built like tanks.

Bringing interest back to these beauties with a steep price drop. You know you need some hubs for that winter build you are working on!
