VO front rack/decaleur question

Has anyone got a VO bag or decaleur, if so could you measure the spacing of the holes in the cross-bar and (if you have the metal bit) the length of the two bits that fit in the rack?

'cause I has a rack but no top bit, VO is out-of-stock (though surprisingly cheap), will have to make one.

I get 8 3/8" for holes and 2" for the length of the verticals.

Do you really want an original? I'm no weight weenie, but they weigh too much to use on my bikes. Huh, I guess I am a weight weenie. Plus, I like to put Orleib pannier clips on my rando bags.

Want one? PM me. I make a lot of decaleurs, I've got a few of the bag bits that I use as jigs for people that want just the bike side.

The pins are 6mm (not 1/4"), spaced 40.5-41mm apart on the ones I have, but your best bet is to use the rack itself as a jig to take into account the variation.

VO uses solid rod, I use tubing. The VO bit weighs 120 grams, mine are about 50.

The VO decaleur has the quality of very low price, but some have broken theirs at the headset spacer/tubing weld. Others report that their headset comes loose as there's no clocking mechanism to work with a flat or steerer groove.

If you can make the bag side, you might consider making an entire decaleur. My Flickr decaleur album
