Birthday Ride
Birthday ride today. “68” miles with 8500’ of climbing. The route was from Altapass, NC (East of Spruce Pine) to Mt Mitchell and back on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Good weather. Always a crap shoot weather wise on Mitchell and today was no exception. It was sunny at the bottom of the 5 mile climb, spitting mist in heavy fog half way up then pretty clear up top.
The flora along the Parkway was as beautiful and diverse as I’ve ever seen it. The store at the top was open for refueling otherwise I would have run out of fluids.
