Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Headset help

So my De Rosa says it takes a 1and 1/8th to 1and 1/4 headset. Like my other bikes, but then it says “conical” when being described by the manufacturer.

Is this something different from my other headsets?
(TCR and Dogma)

Would that work? It seems different from the FSA I’m used to dealing with. Is it? I’d like something that doesn’t rust as easily.

My F8 Pina says it takes 1 1/8 to 1 1/2. Any suggestions on some higher end ones that may be more rust resistant. I have little idea what I’m looking at when I’m buying these. The only ones I’ve replaced is my TCR because it gets rained on often. After a popping I took my F8 apart and it was severely rusted despite seeing very little light rain(maybe twice in the 4 months I’ve had it)

Some I see have the specs, but say mountain bike or they look different from the FSA I’m used to.
Why does this one have less gaskets or spacers rings or whatever they are?

Sorry for my lack of knowledge
Thanks

Try to find the exact model numbers for the DeRosa headset bearings, then google them to buy them directly. That's what I did when I needed to replace the lower HS bearing in my Argon.

So as long as the measurements are the same (1/8 1/2 etc) then any bearings will work?

What about the washers or whatever they are? The fsa In my pinarello has a few that don’t come with other bearings.
