Need referral to attorney specializing in cycling accidents
Good evening,
One of my adult daughter’s friends was injured while riding his bicycle.
I don’t have a lot of details, except that the collision occurred in the East Bay Area. The other detail is that the driver was being inattentive at the time of the collision. Other than that I don’t know much else.
If anyone knows of a local attorney specializing in cycling accidents, please let me know.
I don’t want to refer my daughter’s friend to one of those TV-radio attorneys.
Thank you in advance.

Don't know if this will help, but offer it as a suggestion.

Dolan Law Firm is involved with Bike to Work Day every year (they always give out those reflective pantleg straps in the goodie bags), and are apparently well-versed in cycling law. I have no personal experience with them, nor do I have any connections. But I have seen their name around and they are supposed to be pro-cyclist. I think they're in SF. Maybe worth a look.

When my friend needed a bicycle lawyer, she contacted some of the ones who advertised on the bicycle coalition websites. All of them seemed competent, so she chose the one she felt communicated best with her.

@eja_bottecchia: Just saw your post. You maight want to pass along these guys. https://bayareabicyclelaw.com/ I know nothing about them other than they in SF and are representing Bike East Bay in the suit in CoCo County Superior trying to block cyclist access to one of the roads trough Diablo Country Club to Mt. Diablo/Southgate. They claim to do nothing but representing cyclists.
Best to you and yours. Sorry anyone has to get entangled in litigation. As a lawyer, I can tell you it is not fun for the litigants, but it is too often necessary to get any recompense.
Hope this helps.

I second what squirtdad said, remove everything. People get out of liability all the time for silly things like videos of someone not acting injured enough.

Hopefully you've connected with an attorney and are pursuing a remedy. On the off chance you have not, I will second the Dolan Law Firm recommendation. My son was a certified paralegal there for 3 years and he thinks highly of them. Chris Dolan is the sole owner and would be the person to take the case to court if a settlement wasn't reached - and he is very effective. Best of luck....
