‘99 Schwinn Peloton
I don’t know if this considered vintage/classic yet, but I thought I’d start the post here since it’s a 20 year old bike at this point.
Chain arrives in a a few days. Before and after photos below.
anyone else still riding one of these?

Exactly why I want one. Or a Lemond Zurich that actually fits me. (60cm+)

OK, there is a lot going on with that particular bike that offends my very sensitive, finely-tuned C&V sense of aesthetics: stem, crank, blue chain links (seriously?) seat post, fork.
I bet it rides really nice when you're feeling fast and frisky, though

There's probably a couple on eBay. They are high end bikes so you will have trouble finding one for less than 400 or 500 bucks, minus the lucky Craigslist find here and there.

Clearly, I've been away for a while.
It's a bit of an experimental bike to play around with some carbon bits and modernize pretty classic geometry. I have thought about offending your C&V sensibilities with some carbon wheels, as well . I definitely had to get rid of the original aluminum fork, the rest could easily be swapped back to something else if I happened to find an appropriate fork for the bike made of steel. For now, it's got a pretty dreamy ride and it's one of the lightest bikes I own.
I do have a few classic bikes, as well, that I think you'll be more pleased with.

I had a peloton for a minute or two. It wasn't light enough to make me like it any better than a 531 frameset. It also had very little room for tires or inexpensive modifications. Clearly I am not the target audience.

They are good frames and last and lifetime, I would however treat the bottom bracket seat tube and head tube with rustol as a preventive maintenance. On my 1998 Jamis Dragon MTB frame made of this material rust started to develop at the bottom bracket, I treated it with rustol, also treated the seat tube and head tube with Rustol.

I'm limited to 28mm tires which is enough for the riding I do with it but would be pleased if I could squeeze a couple of more millimeters in there.

I've had one for quite a few years now and I like it quite a bit.
I have it set up as 1 x 9 for sequential shifting.
I don't have any pics of it but here is the gear chart.
