Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Specialized Sirrus Comp vs Secteur Elite

As the title says, which would you pick? I am looking to buy my first road bike and both are $1000 cad. I know the Secteur has shimano tiagra and the sirrus has some kind of SRAM (I’m not familiar with sram). The only thing I’m iffy about with the sirrus is the bars.

also, how would the Secteur hold up for maybe getting into racing as a beginner?

thanks,
voz
