Android and iPhone cycling app
Strava Cycling has a nice app for cycling, running, walking, etc that I loaded on an Android phone and it works great. GPS based, records elapsed time, elevation change, route map, total miles. They say there is also an iPhone version. I don't have a bike computer but carry a phone so I like it. Just FYI.

Yes, I use it and i like it a lot. Back at my parent's summer house there are some very nice and famous climbs (La Redoute, Cauberg) and it's a joy to ride the devil out one of these and see how you stack up. So far I'm on the right side of the middle in the climb rankings, but nothing compared to the pro's (some load their data in strava too, very nice).

I use Endomondo and Move! Bike. I can certainly add Strava to the mix.

I use MapMyRide for cycling and walking, and Endomondo too. I'll have to check out the others as well.

I've not heard of these apps before, but I use Allsport GPS on Android. It's very simple, logs rides, runs, walks, etc with ststs like avg speed, distance, elevation, calories burned, etc. I'll have to look into Strava, Endomondo, and Move! Bike. On iOS, I use MotionX, mostly because a couple years ago, there seemed to be nothing better. It cost like 10 bucks, so I'm reluctant to shed it in case I have an iPhone again...

Strava is free, as is Endomondo and most others.
As for MapMyRide, their app and website badly suck. While you can export a route (i.e. the breadcrumb trail from A to B) that you have cycled as a GPX file, it does not let you export a workout (with time stamps for each point i.e. performance data). That however is a requirement for using that data with any other GPS cycling site. The bottom line is, if you use MMR for recording, all your performance data is locked into MMR. You can not export GPX files for use with Strava, RideWithGPS or other sites. Total vendor lock-in!
What's worse, their site is full of bugs, some of them as elementary as workouts showing up in the workout calendar with the wrong date all the time. Every time you save it, the date moves by another day. If you're using metric units they're unable to remember your weight and height, etc. These problems have been known for months but they're unable to fix them. I finally gave up on them.
I now record with Strava and also import into RideWithGPS. Taken together these two have the perfect feature set.

I use "My Tracks" from google. Not sure how this compares to the cycling-specific apps mentioned above but it also does the distance/elevation/ave speed/time elapsed/etc pretty well and consistently. Also free!
