We had a rental in the islands about 15 years ago. Kids had to ask what the cranks on the door were. They were mind blown.

The Saturn has window cranks. When I used to give the kids’ friends a ride, it also confused them, but the smart ones would respond “Oh! That’s why they say roll down the window!”

I thought about extending my ride on out to Alpine and Portola, but I'm still dealing with the hip thing. Not a problem on the bike, but walking Rango around the neighborhood was an issue. I'm to young to be old.
BTW, If you look at the sky in both this picture and mine, you can see how blue the sky is. That's normal here. I will miss that, when I have that pale bluish white sky you get Back East in the Summer.

Wind was a prick today.
FD on my Di2 only shifts correctly about 50% of the time, but it doesn’t drop the chain. My Sram shifted 95% of the time but dropped the chain 50 % of the time.
My read brake on my di2 madone randomly starts rubbing while riding. Also if I use my brakes they both run after I release the brakes. Sometimes it’s only for a short period and stops, others I’ll end up pumping my brake levers multiple times to get it to stop.
Thoughts?

Hand crank windows still come as an option on some new cars here. On our last couple used purchases, we insisted on hand crank. And new bikes come with downtube shifters and rim brakes. I believe 28" tire Indian made bikes, with rod brakes, can still be purchased new, though I may be wrong about the rod brakes. It could have changed to coaster brakes by now, Double top tube serves what purpose I don't know.

Got all kitted to ride this morning. Bikes were clean and charged. Started the drive to our ride start, and one block from home the sky opened. 😪

I think about this sometimes. What would I buy if I had the money to spend on a new car? I really don't know, maybe a pick-up. You've heard about the fastest way to ruin a hobby? Make it your job.
I've driven the supercharged Vettes and Camaros. I wonder why someone would want that. I've owned beaters for a long time and I'm ok with them.
I sometimes have the desire to get an old clunker and work on it. I still might do it one of these days. Or not.

his car sat for an extended period - inside fortunately - but still a significant amount of work required … fuel tank full of crap … fuel lines … hoses … seals … gaskets … just about anything and everything rubber is compromised and needs to be replaced

When you put it on the work stand and clamp the first top tube too tight, you have a second one.

I found out that if you run the descaler function, they shut down and won’t restart. Shades of Apple product’s planned obsolescence.

I don’t even know how to run that. I’ve been running water through it and it appears to be working again. But why did it decided to have a seizure when I touched it?

had that issue on a couple of bikes … one eventually improved and still ok now *** … but on another bike I replaced the caliper
*** I used a q tip dipped in Shimano mineral oil to clean the surrounding area a few different times - that might have helped ? also seemed to be more of an issue when it was cold ?
