Yoo Hoo....Mr. Weatherman.....
I HATE YOU!!!
WINTER SUCKS!!!
Two months of below average temperatures with above average snowfall and we finally get a three day thaw (complete with a three day wind storm). Now we're back down to single digit temperatures with frigid snowstorms rolling through every three or four days in typical La Nina fashion.
So here's the deal. I'm tired of being cold! I surrender. The bike has been put away in the garage. I'm driving the wife's Camry around town (it's gentle on gas). I'll be hunkered down under my Blankie until it gets a bit more gooder outside, and that's all there is to it.
This grizzly old fart will crawl out of his cave at a yet to be determined time!!
Ahhhh, I feel better now.

Yeah, It's like a blizzard here too. We got about 6 inches today (Monday) and the weather guy says it ain't over yet.
*Edit: I live 1/2 mile south of I-76, the 11:00 o' clock weather man just said traffic is at a standstill on 76.

The Denver metro area has had one of the warmest and driest winters I can remember, while the mountains starting 20 miles west and continuing for about 100 miles or so has had record snowfall. I've shoveled only a few times, and started the blower just twice.
I have bicycled quite a bit, including 2.5 hours today in about 42 - 43F temps, which is great under a sunny sky.
So, my heart goes out to you, COD. Come visit, but DON'T bring your weather.

We're supposed to get a whole inch of snow this week. I was feeling grumpy about finally getting over the flu just to have what we consider cold weather, but I think I'll just celebrate the fact that cold here means slightly below freezing for overnight lows by riding every day this week. Someone's got to make up for all the miles not being ridden by folks back east.

This afternoon I let the dog out and it was just misting. Couple of minutes later she wants in, so in she comes covered with white carp. It was coming down in flakes as big as pie plates, didn't last thank the lord but it was scary. The weatherman blew another one.

Just so you feel better about the winter we just had....................predictions are for a colder than normal spring.

Forty-six inches of snow so far this year, which according to the weatherman is 5 above average. I didn't hear about the temp, but my estimate is that highs are running 8-10 F below normal. Predicted low tonight is 4F.

We've had a much colder than usual winter but it may be about over. General Lee didn't see his shadow on groundhog day.
The high temps have been in the 50s-70s (10C-22C) for the past few weeks.
Lenny, it sounds like you need to move south so you can abandon the cave.

Funny how no one seems to be talking about that anymore.
Yeah, we had the warm up, followed by drops back into single digits. Now, they're saying that "we may be headed back into an active weather pattern, beginning next week".
I had better not hear any whining about water shortages this summer.
I think I have this TV weather business all figured out: They have staff meetings, beginning in September. At these meetings, they decide whose designer parka's they'll wear this year, with the station logo prominently displayed. LL Bean, Columbia sportswear, North face, etc. Red, yellow, or maybe a nice blue. Then, they figure which hot weather babe they'll put out by the side of a busy roadway, just to tell people how much it's snowing, and that people should slow down. The figure out which "buzz expressions" they'll use in the air. "Active weather Pattern" seems to be this year's winner.
If the truly want to lock in male viewers, they should just have weather girls like they have on Mexican TV. Then, they'll be onto something.

I HATE February it seems like the worst month of all. S.A.D. seems to kick in big time even though the days are noticeably longer. We are expectin acording the weather gurus a snow event here in the Puget Sound area. Depending on the location it could be nothing or up to 6 inches. If we get that much this place will come to a standstill. I know you folks in the east will be laughing you butts off at that statement but we don't do snow well here. Too many hills and the snow is so wet it instantly turns to ice and we don't have much in the way of snow removal equipment. Anyway only another few dayst till March so I'm looking forward to that. I bet all my eastern and midwest friends are champing at the bit too. Hang in there

Except the folks in the Arctic who had to cancel winter events due to lack of snow. Or the wheat farmers and traders who are dealing with the effects of last year's record temperatures/drought in Russia and this year's anticipated drought in China. Or the Australians who had record floods. Or...oh never mind. The eastern U.S. is the entire planet I suppose.

"HTFU and ride."
That's my plan. My area is destined to get 5" - 7" of snow tomorrow. My first race is Saturday near Columbus, where they are only getting rain/freezing rain then warming up to a sunny and calm 36 degrees on Saturday. The hardest decision will be on how to dress for the 40 mile race.
