Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

yea, I live and ride in Budapest, and yes, if you think that guy is a little nuts, you would be right (and no, that is not me, I value my skin and other parts). Those trams fly along at a pretty good pace, and the traffic on that road is pretty fierce.

There are a lot of trolleys in Budapest. We have to wait about 15 min for each one going in one direction. Looks like one every minute or so there.

That particular line (4&6) is the busiest in Europe. During the day, you will wait no more than 2 minutes. Other parts of the transit system, well, lets say it is a work in progress, those many years of "communist efficiency" really hammered the country and the city.

Hmmmm. Not sure borscht was the specialty. Was more the goulash, the paprikas, game stews, spicy salamis, delicious dry white wines, local beers, morning espressos, and fresh unf'ed with eggs that turned me on.
