"Unworthy riff-raff" are your words. Nobody but you said that.
With all due respect sir, you need to look in the mirror before you mock and condescend to others. Your behavior is the same as those you accuse.
Wear whatever you want but my posts were about dressing for a major cycling event, not riding around an army base. This was explained now three times but seems to have been lost on you.

I ride in local and semi local charity rides that attract hundreds and occasionally a thousand or more riders.
A large % of people in these events also happen to be riding at a pretty good pace(18+ average mph)and they are not matching anything.
Is the event not major enough or do they simply lack respect for themselves and other riders?

As well as teams and sporting organizations. When I race, I am required to wear my team's uniform by USAC rule. Also by team rule, I am required to wear it during team training rides and group rides. We do this as an obligation to our sponsors and to promote our team in the cycling community. Recognizing that none of us could afford 7 full kits per week and that no one wants to do laundry every night, allowances are made for solo training/commuting/JRA.

Every piece of cycling gear that I own was bought on sale. So, generally, no. It doesn’t even match itself, much less the bike. Most of my riding is for transportation, so I tend to wear a helmet, cycling shoes, and street clothes, and carry regular shoes.
That said, my helmet does match my road bike. The guys at the bike shop think it’s intentiona, and tease me about itl. But it’s really just coincidence. The helmet was on sale.

People, tone down the insults and arguments. We are talking about matching clothes to bike, not world problems.
Back on the original topic: Sometimes I sort of match, sometimes I don't.

Ill fitting jacket. Too much shirt collar showing.
Clean shaven, appropriate amount of sleeve showing, top button only and pocket square more than make up for it.
Leather watch band is righteous.
He not only matches the bike but the environment as well.

The key isn't so much the outfit, (though it's definitely part of it!) but the ability to strike a pose. I hope you all are taking notes here...

I have a very cheap phone that doesn't take very good photos. People keep tell me to buy a better phone. No words terrify me more.

It seems weirder to me if you don’t match. See, people have preferences for certain colours and patterns, and tend to gravitate to them, and companies cater to this. I match, but that’s because it would be difficult to not match. There are a lot of bikes, shirts, shoes, helmets, and accessories in the red-black-grey/white category. Why would I purposely avoid what I like and buy something I don't? Just to be contrarian? So, I'm past high school. You probably have a preference for your bike, why not your cycling clothes? How about your regular clothes? Do you coordinate yourself, or are you a walking fashion faux pas? Now, I do think some overdo it. I try to be stylish, but not at all overdone. I personally don’t care for the team look. I don’t need the names of European banks or cell phone companies on my kit. But I do notice when I see a rider whose clothes, helmet, and accessories match each other, but not your bike. TS however, seems to make a deliberate effort to not match. That is what’s truly strange.
Because unless I missed something, nobody in this thread stated that they specifically try to be mismatched. Many people did state that they don’t try hard to match ofc but that is quite a different thing.
If it wasn’t, you would ofc be accusing them of what you consider high school behavior.
Good stuff.

Wear what you want. Cool with me.
If a man wears blue Jean's and a red shirt nobody would think twice. If a man wears red pants and a blue shirt some would think wrong. Its trained thought.

Neither does my shirt rise up and reveal my belly when holding the handrail on the train. Is reciprocal courtesy from others around me too much to ask? A fashion sense notwithstanding.
Anyway, when a cyclist matches (or any athletic sport for that matter) I think its great. If they don't, I don't even notice unless its a neon green top and a bright orange bottom. Also great if it keeps you safe.

I actually got a cycling jersey one year as a present with colors that matched my favorite bike.

My bike is mostly unpainted titanium, clear coated carbon fiber, and silver anodized aluminum. I also have retro reflective powder coated rims which are a subdued anthracite color during the day.
My black shorts and socks match the carbon fiber, and most of my jerseys have a retroreflective trim strip across the pocket tops that's gray in daylight.
why?
Retroreflective surfaces are good for safety.
Do you match chainstay protector, pedals, valve caps, etc to your frame color?
I have titanium colored pedals to match my titanium frame, titanium colored front derailleur fork, titanium colored water bottle cages, and titanium hardware like derailleur pivots and cable clamp bolts.
I don't have a chainstay protector or valve caps.
