Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

^ you suggest a person with 4" of seatpost that their seat looks a little low, but then don't mention it on another bike with 4" of seatpost? and say nothing about fit when it's got 3" of spacers under the stem?

p.s. the stem is a thompson

Is my seat too low? Really? It fits me well. I've got good clearance at the top tube. Feels aggressive when I'm in the drops.

At the moment? Not enough. It's kind of my do-everything/do-anything bike, so it sees a lot of street use, with the occasional fireroad or bit of singletrack.

Huh, I hadn't even thought about it, but not quite. Pedals/clips are MKS, bars are on-one, and chain is some sort of $10 bmx chain, wherever those come from. It's just a bunch of stuff from the parts bin that I liked, I guess I just like a lot of the us-based stuff.

You tell us. Is the frame too big?

(Based on your saddle height, I would assume yes.)

I've been riding that Shimano rear wheel for a year in the city with no issues and i'm 230lbs too! I'm confident that Shimano did R&D for that hub/wheel set up but if it breaks, i'll have an excuse to get a rear Aerospork to complete my poseur set up. lolz..
