If it fits you and it's in decent mechanical shape, yes, at least in my area.

If the tires aren't dry rotted, the wheels are straight and things seem to be working than yes if it fits and you need it. Otherwise, no, that isn't really a great price for a very old bike that wasn't all that high end to begin with.

The Apex was higher up the food chain than the Ascent, so a nice bike. I just picked up an all original one in my size for about that money, but my market is overheated. That one has mismatched wheels and the seat is trash, so I'd offer less.

Neat paint effect, I heard they did that as a common paint and used 🔥 before the clearcoat.

yes and I have seen the frame sets sell for $100+ on the bay so you could also part out if you were not happy with the ride. If it fits then its a nice bike to have in your stable!
I have a Diamondback Racing Mtb and a GT Backwoods in mine.
