Garmin died - where else can I record metrics?

My edge 530 head unit died yesterday mid-workout. After troubleshooting with Garmin, they have concluded that it is indeed boogered and are sending me a new one (nice of them, as mine is over 3 years old). My question is whether/how I can record HR and power for my rides until I receive the replacement? It would also be super helpful to be able to view HR and power during the ride so I can know if I am doing the workout properly.

Is there an app for my phone that might work?

I am using garmin rally pedals for power and a garmin dual HRM for HR.

Note: It appears as though I might be able to use the 4iiii app and power meter on my gravel bike for this but I have never done so. I would prefer to use my road bike but if necessary, has anyone tried this?

Alas, this used to be possible on your phone with Strava, but they discontinued that capability.

I used to take advantage of this when/if the battery died on my head unit.

If anybody knows of a different phone app that records HR and power data, it would be nice to hear about it.

RidewithGPS, at least the paid version, supposedly will connect with bluetooth sensors.

Even the free version of RideWithGPS has basic functionality that enables you to record the ride.

Ok. Both the pedals and hrm paired with the app. That’s a good sign.

Take a look at Cyclemeter and Urban Biker. Both support ANT+ and Bluetooth.

Tried this today. It recorded everything fine, but I couldn’t monitor power in the moment so I kinda fudged as best I could with HR.

Thanks everyone.

Just took a quick look at Cyclmeter Elite (paid version), the following power metrics are available: Adjusted Power, Average Power, Average Power Balance, Maximum Power, Power, Power Balance, Power Intensity, Power Output, Power Score, Power Variability. Something else you're looking for?

I will take a look. As it turns out, Garmin got a replacement to me in under 24 hours (!), and I just needed to record yesterdays workout on the rwgps app, which I used since I already had it and pay for it.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I don't know if their app does it, but if you go to the RWGPS website, you can manually enter your ride information to what ever extent you have information for. And if you have a route made for the ride you did, you can add that to show where you went.

On their website you go to the upload page. Down a little be they have "Manually Log Your Ride". Strava and most every other similar site have a way to manually enter a ride too.

Until the new stuff comes in - go by RPE, and guess your wattage, manually add your workouts to Gamin Connect, etc.
