Wrecked pre war Schwinn Traveler
This mornings deliberation. Should I take the whole wreak home and try and salvage some parts.? Or just grab the head badge and the SA hub with a broken axle?

I would take the whole thing you can probably salvage a lot of the other parts like the crank and pedals even the small bits and pieces if original can fetch pretty good prices cleaned up.. Also the bike is 1950's not pre-war Schwinn made these with few changes from 1950-1966 based on what little I can make out of the graphics this one appears to be mid to late 50's with some none original parts

Fork has value, so do the brakes. My New World at present only has a front brake as an example of the parts needs out there.

It's a 1950s era bike. Chain guard indicates a Traveler, which could be. The fenders are from an English bike. Numerous parts have been replaced but some remaining parts are worth salvaging. The bike as a whole is a write-off. But if you need Schwinn lightweight parts, there's some stuff there.
