What got me thinking of this thread was seeing a picture bike forum member, Sixty Fiver posted, showing his home shop. His picture made me realize I am much unorganized.

Yea, I doubt a picture of my driveway would be in keeping with the flavor of the thread. I worship guys with their own, dedicated space. I don't even have an actual work stand. I use one of those showroom stands that lift the rear wheel off the ground. But, I try to pull it off as manly ruggedness by throwing my Hozan lockring tool on the ground whenever I'm doing as much as putting air in the tires.

I share my work space with my motorcycles so my "bike" space is sort of mobile around the garage. I have a workbench next to the motorcycle lift and a couple of tool boxes, air compressor, lighting and all that plus some storage. My motorcycle riding gear is stored in closets as well. I park 5 motorcycles in there with all that along with 2 gun safes.

I shuttle my bike stand (Feedback Pro Elite) around to open spots and have a cheap Harbor Freight worktable on wheels to go with it which holds my bike tool only box and allows some work space. I learned to keep bike tools separate so I don't have to go look for stuff all over. My bikes hang from the ceiling when not used or in a 2 bike stand on the floor when they are. I keep some bikes in another shed or in my enclosed motorcycle trailer outside. This garage is heated and attached to my house and runs 24x26 with 11 ft ceilings. I have another 24x30 garage detached plus a 16x20 shed.

I guess I could take pics of all that but its a lot of years of hobby accumulation to move around to just show my bike work space which moves around anyway.

My garage is dedicated to anything with 2 wheels: 14 bicycles and 4 motorcycles. No 4 wheel vehicles allowed! The work bench was built for me by a cabinetmaker/carpenter friend over 30 years ago, and has been in 4 different homes and 3 different states. A key feature is a raised lip all around the top to keep ball bearings etc. from rolling away. And of course, a good bench vise is essential. The work stand is a Park professional shop stand, and it is well worth the $400 cost. Also, note the old Suntour Winner freewheel shop board, which allows me to build up old school freewheels for my older bikes. I have separate flourescent fixtures over the workbench and work stand. Not shown is a wheel truing stand and centering tool.

I have a little toolbox next to a step ladder. When I'm not sitting on the step ladder, I put the toolbox on it. Looks more professional.

When I have a job, and am not stuck living in a ****ty apartment... I'd love to have a garage dedicated to bicycles, motors, and all my toys.... much like my dad's garage now... Also I'll have a separate shaping room dedicated to shaping surfboards.... I'll also live in New Zealand... on the water. hmmm

I bet any bike thieves who ever break into your garage must wet themselves! They would probably have to call for help to shift all that loot away!
