He's family - Tell him the truth - You have reignited your interest in the bike. Does he REALLY want it, or could you get him something else? If the former, give it to him; you gave your word. If the latter, buy him his own "rocket" and then go ride together.

This story is better than any of the others where the son goes to college and wants a bike that the parents won't buy for him.
