How to Sell my Cyclecross Bike
Hi Folks!
Five years ago I bought a sweet new Giant Cyclecross bike. I rode it 5 times and it's been in my garage since. Ugh, I'm "that guy"...please forgive me! Now I'm looking to sell it. Any recommendations on the best venue for selling the bike? I'm not an eBay-er but I have craigslisted before ;-). I live in New Orleans--not the most avid biking town, unless you include drunken helmetless beach cruiser rides.
Thanks all, I appreciate any guidance in advance!
Sincerely,
Bike_Rookie

1. Accept that you are going to lose a good amount in depreciation.
2. Price the bike competitively on Craigslist, pinkbike, etc...
You can use bicyclebluebook to get an idea of the value, but I always look to see what similar bikes are listed for on craigslist and price from there.

Consider eBay, it's more hassle, but you will reach a larger audience.

I use Craigslist but you have to price it right, take good pictures and have a good description. I'd try Craigslist or even find an online yard sale group on Facebook for your area. At least in my area, the moderator approves members to join so not everybody can look at it.

Craigslist is very dependent on local marketplace. Some markets cater to the $250 bike and nobody can move a decent bike at a decent price. It often depends on other local outlets. Local mtb advocacy groups often have used bike marketplaces that cater to higher level bikes, and CX bikes have caught on with more of them as FS bikes have dumbed down some of their local trails.
