Couldn't Help but Laugh...
I could not help but laugh at myself and a situation that has captured my attention of late and I could not help but take a picture.
The other day, I happened to look at my choices for the coming summer's ride, those being my Cyclops, just upgraded with a ten speed Brifter group, or a walker that Bicycles for Humanity loaned me, after suffering three heart attacks in two days, coupled with blood clots in my heart and lungs.
Not seeking sympathy here, just suggesting that life is fragile and one never knows when one's number is up. Luckily, I am feeling much better and still looking down, rather than up, at the grass (or snow, at this time of the year).
Personally, I am hoping to get the Cyclops out in the next few weeks, even if only for short rides around the neighbourhood. As for the walker, I do not need it anymore since I seem to get a bit stronger every day.

A contrast, indeed - and glad to hear that the two-wheeled option is still holding its attraction, and looking like a good prospect for Spring/Summer, after such an unwelcome dose of perspective. Wishing you a steady recovery. Helluva bike!

Point well taken Randy.
Everyone should take note that their number can come up at any moment - And you don't have to have a heart attack to test it - especially these days with all those texting drivers running red lights &/or losing control. (Almost got nailed yesterday ).
Anyway, when you recognize that anyday could be your last, that ride is that much more invigorating, that sunset is that much more beautiful, and that bottle o' beer tastes a little better.

Best wishes for a full recovery, Randy. Good advice- I'm going to savor this beer I'm drinking, and I'm going to give my kids a hug right now.

I fix those walkers from time to time at the nursing home where I work. The first one they were taking to the dumpster cause the brake cable broke where it takes that hard curve down at the bottom. I stopped them and dealt with it. Now I'm the regular brake cable guy. You wouldn't think it would be so hard to figure out.
I'd give my kids a hug right now but I'd wake them up so I'll just savor this beer.

I'm glad to hear that you're recovering, and certainly appreciate that none of the 3 were worse than they were.

Good choice of rehab, so much more fun than plodding around.
Nothing like getting well while getting rolling.
Glad to have you here, as always.
Keep it up, eh? We need you.
PS. I see you went tri-spokes on the walker.

Wow, Randy, you don't have to always do things to such extremes! Most people would be happy to stop at one heart attack, you have to do three back to back. Hmmm.
Best wishes and prayers for your complete recovery, please don't push the recovery too fast, let the body tell you when it is time to ride safely.
Bill

Keep up the progress, get stronger and better. Part of the reason I got back into cycling was that heart disease runs in the family. Fighting the BP, Weight, Cholesterol demons.
