Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Not sure if these are the exact wheels you are talking about, but there's a voluntary recall

whats wrong with saying theyre both good wheels. id say definitely the dura ace hubs are some of the best available and all the da 7800 level wheels seem good, people put their trust in them for road and cross, and i had some of the wh7800's and they were the stiffest thing in the world. using that wheelset for training though, is simply ********.

makes more sense to get a high spoke count hub to something like an open pro or a dtswiss 1.1 or a fusion or something

if you want good carbon clincher training wheels you should take Easton EC70 SL or Edge 38mm clincher rims with DT240.

So let me get this strait pcad. Your planning on purchasing a $1,299 wheelset for training? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of a training wheel?

I have ridden the hell out of those wheels and love them. THe hubs are amazing and can be serviced/ rebuilt easily (even though I have not had to do that yet). They are really stiff, yet still comfortable and you can beat the hell out of them without any problems.

you are kind of right. MSRP is about $1300. they are on sale for $750. i ride the easton orion IIs which have a much lower MSRP and are similar in weight and are indestructible (so far).

It's part of a larger bike purchase. Not a big deal.

Relax you Johnny Lunchpails. Get your Assos in a twist over $5K Obermeyers or Lews, not $1K Shimano or Mavics. Man, what is this the friggin Neuvation Forum? I'm going to rub my Amex Gold Card now just for inspiration after this pathetic thread.

Now, back to your coupon clipping.

By the way, when we have the tent warming after we move in under the highway underpass after the foreclosure, you're all invited to help me polish the Cervelo.

Opinion? I think those are a waste of money for 'training' wheels. But I think they are nice wheels, a few friends are riding the non-carbon version and have good things to say.
