doesnt seem too bad, although a BD bike seems better and also the fact that you can get a superior madison for about the same cost.
edit: BTW, hate the stem

it's a bike. it gets you from a to b. it'll last as long as it needs to.
besides, i read this hours ago and i didn't feel compelled to start a thread about it.

It's a cost issue. Off course it's going to have to make concessions in component spec, it's MSRP $329 and will probably be sold for less at retail. It's a cheap, very basic, entry bike.

Yeah, the bikes direct and bike island offerings are a better deal. But a large majority of people - especially if it's their first fixed gear bike - might prefer the hands-on buying experience at their LBS. While I wouldn't ride this thing, I also wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to someone interested in buying their first fixed gear bike. It's miles ahead of anything you can get at Walmart without that $500+ price tag on most decent entry-level bikes.

Yeah I definitely support buying at LBS when possible.
I guess the price lets you have an American tradition?
Material/component wise though, I think BD has done better at the price point.

Some coffee houses have walls that are very delicate, and the difference of 7-8 pounds could cause the Cutter to embarrassingly cut right through the wall, living up to its name.

The style of cranks they used is just .. wtf
my friend bought one of those to throw on a cheap conversion and within days, the chainring came loose and it has about 1/4 inch of back and forth play. Really safe for a fg

I was more interested to see how the Oso Bike turned out when I finally found and online review. I kind of wanted to believe it would turn out ok but that wasn't the case...

Bikes made now under the Schwinn name have nothing to do with the Schwinn bikes made when you were born. You can read the rest of the posts in this thread to find out why people think it's a crappy bike.
