I'm considering the HED Bastognes instead. They're $150-$200 cheaper and only about 50g heavier. They look like an excellent all around choice.
I haven't heard the best things about the ceramic bearing upgrade in the Ardennes. Maybe they have the bugs worked out by now.
I've also heard the 190 lb. weight limit is pretty close to spot on. If you're over or are close and an aggressive rider go for the heavier build.
Also, if you're planning on racing them, you'll have issues with your spare/backup wheels if they don't have the same rim width.
The older ones (pre-2008?) supposedly weren't made with the C2 rims and are narrower. I think those are the ones Cambria Bike has on closeout.

Got to test these wheels today (and for the rest of the week)
"Amazingly zippy" is how I would describe them. Im a light rider (140-145 lbs) so I don't worry about flex much, but when I hammer up hills I don't like mushy wheels... these felt much stiffer than my bontrager race. Quick to build up speed from stand still and launching at 35kmh up to 50kmh felt much quicker/snappier.

Yep, this is the BF. Out of five replies, one (1) has something to do with a product related to the one the OP is asking about. The other four posts (including this one) have NOTHING to do with the subject.
While the OP is having his thread thoroughly hijacked . . . Who is going to win the TdF, Lance or Alberto?

I just found out that my original claim is wrong. The Shimano rims are only 20.8mm wide, whereas the Ardennes are 22mm.
