Addiction LXXVIII

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It's an OK spork except for the file marks on the welds.

Good deal. Glad you made it.

Sunday, the 28th. Frontier was a neat airline, then it wasn't. It's a direct flight, and that's the most important thing.

Partial re-opening beginning next week. Two international organizations have given their stamp of approval for the re-opening of the Mexican Carribean. Everybody fully admits it's out of control and are choosing to re-open anyway. I, personally, would advise against planning a Mexican vacation for the coming tourist season. But what do I know?

I also will take Frontier for a direct flight. Otherwise I like a bit more comfort.

No, unless it works. When I got back into touring in 2009 I carried a Santoku knife with a 5” blade. Had to make a sheath out of mat board and tape. Years ago I discovered a small paring knife with its own cover that gets the job done.

We were supposed to be there (a bit south of Playa del Carmen) in two weeks. Had to cancel. I was looking forward to skipping off to Cozumel for a day trip for a couple dives.

Saw my first fireflies of the year whilst cresting a hill on the way home.

They must not know that summer was canceled.

Mine looked more like this. Not perfect, but a reliable driver.

I saw some for sale when I was looking for a pic. People are asking 30 grand and more for nice ones. I had no idea they were that collectable.

And I had to cancel my trip to the US. I hear the diving is quite good off Cozumel. Hopefully some semblance of normal will return at some point. It doesn't seem like it will be soon, anywhere in the world.
