RIP Tom Stormcrowe

One of our own passed on today. Some of you may not know, but Tom had a series of strokes over the last couple of years and he passed this morning from complications. Tom was a Clydesdale success story going from being on oxygen and barely managing his diabetes to riding endurance races and losing over 200lbs. He was a great guy and an inspiration. RIP buddy.

Thanks for posting, I was on my way to do the same. I'm deeply saddened to hear of his passing, he's the reason I got back on a bike. I feel an emptiness in the universe already.

I met Tom back in 2007 when he still had his blogspot blog and I think I was the one to first send him the link to bikeforums.net lol . Him and I started to lose weight around the same time and also started to cycle around the same time. He kept tabs on me through the years making sure I was still biking and keeping in shape. I kept tabs on him and Miss Stormcrowe making sure they were doing ok. The last time I talked to him, a week ago, I told him how important of an inspiration he had been in my life and the life of others. I'll miss you Tom, so much, it was such a good feeling knowing that you were around and successful and I will miss having you as my mentor. Have a good ride on the other side buddy and we will keep going down here.

My first spring ride will be in his honour. His kind words helped me when I was a beginner cyclist and because of his encouragement and kindness, I always share what I learned with other new cyclists looking for bravery. He was an excellent man and friend. I shall miss him.

Heard about that but wanted someone else who knew him better make the post.

People like Tom touch so many lives in the "I can do it too!" department. He goes way beyond that of course with his willingness to help and have frank conversations. His influence will be missed.

I never had the pleasure of meeting him face to face, but we did trade emails and messages on here. He was a HUGE inspiration for me to get into shape, and my 60 lbs of current weight loss can be heavily attributed to the success example he set.

God speed Tom, spin easy on the climb up!

I am new to the site so I never got a chance to find out out much about him. Looking at some of the posts he was a real inspiration on this site.

My condolences to those who knew him and his family.
