Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That looked like a good test of the low light capabilities, WhyFi. The constant filtering and disregard for semaphores must be the only way you get around in that mess. I do kind of miss the energy of riding around a large city at night. What kind of bike do you have by the way.

Jonesy, I tried but the tempestuous music and photo frame template seemed to conspire to scare off single men watching that video.

Vol, I'm going straight to the source with this question. Could you briefly explain the whirlwind of activity around you? More specifically the sub rosa plots you seem to be engaged in uncovering and your dealings with this Fedor. As always, I await your incomplete replies.

Yeah, it's a fun commute, though that's the best part, if one likes mixin' it up with traffic. I'm pretty happy with the camera, thus far - from what I've seen messing around with it, the noise should clean up in better light/at lower ISO.

edit - bike is a Jamis Xenith.

Whirlwind of activity? I see no such whirlwind, and thus am unable to describe it.

Given that sunrise wasn't until 7:42 AM EST this morning, I find that a peculiar time to ride.

Oh it was dark, that's for sure, but the temps were tempting for a ride.

I had similar ambitions to pcad and got out at a little after 6 here. Much more enjoyable riding in a small amount of snow than 33 degrees and raining like yesterday.

Jonesy, I am irrevocably better at not whining about a little snow than the weighty matter of Snowy the (censored word for female dog) bringing life into your world. Maybe I need to soften the eff up?

The deck has 11" of fresh overnight pow. Delayed start for court this morning.

Flights are cancelled at DIA. You feel bad for all the folks trying to fly in for Christmas.

Supposed to be nice next week too. Highs around 50. Good time to have the week off. I'll finally get some damn riding in.

He hates it. He thinks it's too cold. Can't really blame him considering where he spent his first 15 months.

+1 - when it comes to cold weather hardiness, nurture will win out over nature, take it from a half-Filipino Minnesotan.

Lots and lots of sledding hills in your neck of the woods. That may change his mind. Course, bundling him up so he looks like the Michelin Man may also be the hot ticket.
