Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Not a big deal. I only run part of the group anyway since the Lightning cranks, and KCNC brakes are so much lighter. If the new Red is a lot better all I will have to do is change the shifters/derailleur. Unless those idiots pull off some real magic, and the new Red crank is somehow lighter. Going with the THM fork with integrated brake, and the Egg brake in the back will save about 1/4lb over my already light brakes, and add some aero. Combined with my new Zipp bars that are arriving today, it may be the most aero, light, and fast bike ever. I am still going to need to pick up a 808 for the rear too.

Yeah, it's a really sad example of a stock bike that is lighter than your finely tuned Cervelo. I digress.

Contrary to popular belief lightness isn't all that matters. I could use a different frame, and drop a a pound, and a half instantly. Aero, stiff, and light is the best combo in my opinion. Being under 13lbs, and aero I believe would be the most advantageous. Plus, it's got to look good in the process.

Well according to USPS my bars should of arrived yesterday. They have not had an update since Tuesday. I am not amused, and I will have a very unhappy Cervelo come Saturday. So glad I defaced all the USPS crap off my Trek right now.

Did you consider having it painted with the R5ca scheme? Cost for Hot Tubes is also close to $800, which shouldn't be much more than what they will quote you for the above. If you want really want "lack of colour" the R5ca paint is really stealthy in person.

I'm not overly impressed with my local post office right now. Apparently my regular mail man took the week off, which I'm fine with. However, his substitute sucks. I've only received mail one day in the past three.

I was just giving you a hard time about what I see as an overdone colorway. The glib remark about weight just found itself being typed. Like pcad said, in a year everything could be outdated, heavy, and way behind on the performance curve. Especially the stuff at the tip of the spear. You race your bike so it isn't exactly an issue if anyone thinks it is pretty.

I like that plain black Cervelo with white letters. A lot. There's usually something about the stock Cervelo paint jobs that just doesn't seem right to me. Maybe the original SLC-SL paint job was cool, but not much else.

That's why I invited them to TH . . . things could get interesting.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.
