1984 Nishiki Prestige Value?

I have a 84 Nishiki Prestige 12 speed rd. bike with suntour L+ componets. Bike is clean and runs smooth. Does anyone have an opinion on its value. Thanks

$225 to $250 in good, clean, ready to ride condition. Your picture is not clear enough for me to judge its condition.

That bike is a nice model with a higher end frame. I had a 1986 Prestige earlier this year that was spotless. ((Only handy picture I have right now has the Prestige in the foreground, and a Trek 412 in the background).

I just paid $80 for a 1986 63cm verision that was in bad shape. It needs a new rear wheel, tires, tubes, cables, bar tape, and a really, really good cleaning. Paint is a 7 out of 10, and it has SunTour Cyclone gearing, Dia-Compe brakes. My bike is exactly like the one above in terms of color.

Whoa! That's the only other black one I've seen besides my own. I paid $40 for mine, as a frameset and a few parts. I've got a lot more into it now. As yours sits, I'd pay $140 if I stumbled across it

Here's mine:

$100-$150 before cables, tires, wrap, lube, adjustments.

I think Robbie's $100 to 150 estimate is what the bike should sell for in a normal environment. However, times are not normal and used bike prices are still insanely high. Bill's estiimate of $225 to $250 is probably closer to where I'd start recognizing you'll have to negotiate. List if for $200 and see what happens. With the cycling season getting ready to wind down, you'd better list it soon. Like tonight.

+1 My $225 to $250 estimate is for a near perfect bike. Bike would need new or like new tires, new cables, bearings, grease, and excellent paint. Discount from there on condition, defects or whatever.

Taking into consideration my usual $50 minimum for parts and the less than desireable big frame size I'd say $100 as it sits. Maybe $125.

Thanks to all that responded! I have not been riding this bike enough and the roads are not deluxe in my town. Mountain bikes are the way to go here and I may sell the Nishiki, and by my wife a mtn. bike. I appreciate the input.

Very, very old thread. I paid $80 for mine in November 2023. I've modernized it over the last months, including fenders. I'll post a pic here if I can remember to do so.

I paid about $120 for one in great shape about 6 years ago. I think prices have come down since, and would be a little harder pressed to paid that much for one now, given some of the other $120 options I’m seeing nowadays.

I had one for bit bit in the late 90's paid $90 road it for a few years and sold it for $150 with upgraded nice wheels tires. great rider but not real special. In current market I would say $150 or so if tires wheels are good for the OP/s
.
