Riding All-Hallowed-Eve?

My deliveries are done! Chilling for the day. Any of you C&V folks riding out for a night out? Please be careful out there. If you got some decorations, show them!

First big snow dump of the year in Southern WI so no riding tonight...

I think we just set a record for shortest time between the last snow of last winter and the first snow of this winter (April -> October).

Yes.
Rode to work.
Will ride home.

I'm dressing up as a winter cyclist (30 degrees this morning in Portlandia)

planned to commute in costume.....but makeup took to long, was sticky and didn't want to mess up riding gear, and I wimped out on ride at 39 (as new colder weather gear had not arrive)

but this is what I would have looked like commuting

No.
Weather in Maine sucks and it's a good way to get run over by a mom in a SUV trying to cope.....
I DO like Yuengling, though. Can't get it up here.

No decorations to show off, did my ride this morning:

14 miles in 55 min rolling time. (On my 'bent. Sorry, but not C&V) Pretty chilly (upper 30s, IIRC), but calm clear and sunny. The high pressure system that's incinerating SoCal is giving us beautiful weather on the OR Coast. But I'd give it up in a heartbeat if it meant stopping the fires down there.

Just got finished shoveling the slop. I guess around 3" on the pavement, more on the grass.

+1; they're calling it "Hallowinter". Didn't know about the shortest span thing, interesting. Plus, it was coming down hard during commute time this morning. Studded-tire Hard Rock is ready, so I'm ready to ride _on_ the snow, just not _while_ it's snowing, not just yet anyway.

Innit weird seeing heavy snow hanging on trees full of green leaves?

Rode my normal commute in damp, windy, low-60s weather. That’s about 20 degrees warmer than usual this time of year, which is pretty odd.

Right now it's windy and crappy and 30. Trick or Treat is tonite- haven't even seen a kid and it's been going 20 minutes.

If this keeps up, I'm going to have a tummy full of Baby Ruths and Butterfingers.

A little trail ride today. I'm not actually retired but because I am in between gigs I can pretend I am and take mid day mid week rides when the sun is out. No ghouls spotted

Yup, that's about how it looks here (well, how it looked before it started getting dark). Surprisingly, a LOT of kids out trick-or-treating. Not surprisingly, the parked C&V bike porn downtown is down about 90%.

Today is the last day our State Park (adjacent property) is open as starting Nov. 1, its closed but for hunting season. Really wanted to get a last MTB ride in but I bailed. Myself drastically under the weather and then the snow started, temps expected to be 19° tonight.

Great reports all! We are at 77 and blowing winds. Pic was at my Sisters house. Cold beer waiting while I swam in an even colder pool...

Back now at our less opulent neighborhood for a bigger crowd then the last few years.

Happy and safe times ya’ll

Windy, intermittent downpours, yuck.

Although it did clear up before I took the kids trick or treating in the neighborhood. Then it was upper 50s, a bit breezy. We tromped around, saw very few people and begged for candy. I mentioned to my neighbor that I had a new bike so he invited me to his garage and showed me his Bianchi. I sent the kids home by themselves to shoot the **** with him for a while. Got the scoop on a couple of decent gravel trails nearby, and all the neighbors' transgressions.

Missed this thread, at the right time, but we felt that chill down here in Arizona, too. I spent Halloween in Salome, AZ, and it got down into the 30s F for 3 nights. 👎 And 3 days before that, it was in the 90s F in Needles, CA, so it felt even colder. 🙄🙁 That's why I always carry a down parka, while touring, you just never know. 😉

We won Halloween by dropping candy bags at the three houses on our road where there are kids of age. There were tornado watches, and we couldn't watch Jeopardy! because the weather-guesser thought he could save a life, so all was quiet. It was an unseasonably warm day, but no riding. The commute was the usual two flights of stairs, and inflating the tires on the Iguana was a bit too much effort.
