The wrong brake and lousy cable routing aside, why are you posting a bike for sale in this thread?

BIANCHI EROS VINTAGE.
I did that with an A-D Inter 10 (531) frame. The seat tube had been damaged in a Park stand and I spread the rear stays by a couple of inches, then shoved a chunk of wood far up between the chainstays and then closed up the dropouts around it. Could then fit a 26x2.125 rear wheel, and I built the bike around it.

It's not for sale, & in fact it is my second favorite bike.
The dollar amounts shown are the prices I paid for each of my bikes! And yes, it is the wrong brake &
lousy cable routing, but, you know, it works pretty darn good. I built it to ride, not to impress snobs.

And it's a thread for posting wacky ads from e-Bay and Craigslist. What you posted was not an ad from either of those sources, so why is it relevant to this thread? That's what the rest of us don't understand.

Uggh. Glad it's not my job, but I bet the original paint is under that mess and could be saved with a pile of rags and a can of mineral spirits. Can't imagine why someone would do that.

3 reasons?
  1. Frame is stolen. What better way to hide the identity? (I didn't find anything that seemed to match on the BikeRegistry).
  2. Trying to hide what it is for use as a commuter. There have been a few people that uglified bikes.
  3. Bike was really battered from use (crashes? Repairs?), and needed a repaint.
I did actually put in an offer, but significantly below the asking price (mystery paint on a forkless aluminum Colnago), it sounded like a fun project, but I couldn't go very high. So far not a peep from the seller.

He probably thinks I'm "lowballing" him... but I sent in an offer of what I thought it was worth to me.

Let's keep the personal bashing to a minimum. This thread is intended for a little light hearted joviality, and focuses on the over-priced, poor ads, unique ad content, battered and abused, customized, or downright odd bikes & components that show up for sale, generally E-Bay, Craigslist, and Kijiji.

And, comments about somebody's wacky ads are always welcome, and part of the fun.

One thing that I've noted on the forum is that everyone is different, with different riding styles. But, it is best not to estimate someone else's riding without actual facts to back it up. And, even so, internet misinterpretations are common.

Schwinn Paramount - 56cm Pure Evil Early 70's Cthulu Belialcycle

Hmm, alrighty then...

Schwinn Paramount - 56cm Pure Evil Early 70's Cthulu Belialcycle | eBay

If you are God fearing I would probably stop reading right about here. As a matter of fact, I would clear the cache and shut down my computer, for the taint of evil has already infected it. Are you running Mcafee? That's not going to help. Sorry. You should have read the item description before clicking on this auction. I am absolving myself of any wrongdoing if you continue to read and I need you to know that you already owe 15 Hail Mary's and an Act of Contrition as of this point. Are you going to keep going? Now, I want you to look at the very first picture, but I would start by squinting, gradually letting the image take hold as you open your eyes. I purposefully placed a Weird Tales pulp magazine from 1928 near the rear triangle. Within the pages of that pulp are the very first mentions of an entity named Cthulu. I have it "double-bagged" in a special plastic because the stench emanating from its foul pages can cause hysteria if inhaled. Also in the foreground is King Ghidorah a demonic entity bent on the destruction of Earth. The reason, I want to show the scale of evil that this bike frame represents. It dwarfs two paragons of malevolence. I have had this thing under my house for the last fifteen years, I have never ridden it, afraid of its dark embrace. It whispers to me, telling me to do terrible unspeakable acts. I can take it no longer. I fear for my safety and those around me. Plus, I have neighbors. Though Paramounts were made in Chicago, I am not so sure about this ones provenance. It has definitely been repainted so I am guessing the infernal machination of some paint-smith might be the causation of the purity of evil this bike exudes. I am not saying human sacrifice was involved in the blood red lugs nor that some depraved utterances in long dead tongues were incanted at the time of painting, just that this thing is pretty profane.

The bike frame is 56 cm and the top tube is also 56cm. There are some paint blemishes and chips mainly near the bottom bracket. The rear triangle has been drilled for a brake. Feel free to email me questions.

I will have you know that I am an honest person and I will ship this to you but when the clerk at USPS asks me if there is anything explosive, dangerous, or harmful within the box, I am going to lie and say no. The bike is making me lie.

I'm not seeing quite the right ones online. You could laserprint one, of course.

I'm not quite sure what this one meant to be, but it could be "decorated"

BTW:
A couple of weeks ago, the Eugene co-op (CAT) had a Schwinn Paramount frame that they had stripped. If you're hunting for one, you might contact them.

Sorry it's a BMX... 1980 Harrow Fusion $1500 1980 Harrow Fusion | bmx | Edmonton | Kijiji

...Haro never made a model called a Fusion, it was the name of their parts line. The bike isn't from the 80's but more likely the 90s. Awful blurry pic. Most likely worth max $200, but somehow the seller decided it's worth $1500 despite getting everything wrong about it.

Weird.

No photos of those $800 decals?

I'd expect there to be at least a few pages of text to tell me why I should care about a beat up 80's MTB with a one piece crankset.

At least the shipping rate is reasonable.
