Who Rides a Look 585 in TANGERINE?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Who Rides a Look 585 in TANGERINE?

I just bought an NOS Look 585 optimum and I'm waiting for Fed X to deliver it. However, as I did my research over the last month or so I kept stumbling across the Tangerine color. I know it's probably a pretty polarizing color and normally orange or anything in the red spectrum doesn't appeal to me. So it's strange that I have really fallen for this color.

Anyone ride one? Does it make you faster? Do you get comments on it (love or hate)? Got pics?

Thanks!

Gorgeous. Orange is faster than any other color. Metallic is faster than any other finish. Combined = mind blown.

I don't disagree.

Actually, I do like it. Color is good. Everything doesn't have to be black, white, or red.

zrossiter, thanks for the hard work. I do believe this color looks a bit better in the sunlight.

Here's another pic that I think come pretty close to how this color actually looks. Now who has an XS for sale?

A bike like that could fulfill someone's Tangerine Dream.

I could live (for a few months at least) with the color for the right price, but damn Look for all those logos....

No opinion about the color, but I've had my 585 Optimum for over two years, and it's a really sweet bike.

I was thinking burnt orange too. But the red pedals in the first pic certainly aren't helping. That being said I could turn that frameset into a hot bike. Just think Dura-Ace grey..yum.

Late to the party here. Just picked one up last week (Medium/Record Titanium). I was concerned it might be on the big side but fits me well. Prior to adjustment, the handling was a bit awkward but I dialed it in pretty well. I love the color and it rides like a dream: soft, light, and responsive. My other rides are Litespeed Firenze & Madone 5.5 but the LOOK outrides them all for me.

P.S. Mine is Tangerine which I LOVE! Pictures coming soon.

The LOOK 585 was a legit superbike when it came out, and that color is titties. Post some pics when you hit 10 posts!

Thanks, still love my 585. Obviously color doesn't really make a difference and I'm happy with Black and Blue. But if another in my size were to come along in red or orange I might still pull the trigger. Hope you enjoy yours inrissk!

And when you can post pics, please post some from heavy sunlight. That color reminds me a bit of the old Civic Si Habanero Red Pearl, which was usually dull but wonderful in broad sunlight (and as I was living in Albany when that was around, I saw a lot of them looking dull). I'm curious if this comes similarly more alive in the right conditions.
