Rene Herse?
I have been looking for a touring bike here in Japan, and it is quite hard to find anything in my size (58cm). Bur recently I have come across an old Rene Herse bike with a R Herse crankset, and Simplex levers and derailleurs, with Mafac brakes. The bike has not been ridden in decades, but appears solid. The frame is chrome plated, and still has the original decals and such. It's not cheap, the selling price looks to be around $3000, USD.
Any thoughts?

Given a better opportunity to view, inspect and evaluate the bicycle, I would not be too uncomfortable with the price. The bicycle is close to the top of the collectable makes, in my opinion. Of course, three grand is a lot of money to shell out, but the end result would be worth it. Again, I would want to evaluate the bike in person or with excellent photos to begin with.

Of course, three grand is a lot of money to shell out, but the end result would be worth it. Again, I would want to evaluate the bike in person or with excellent photos to begin with.
