Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You got your money out of those for 👍 sure!
One can, or could recently, get the real Shimano gray market item for 4 or 5 bucks a pair from multiple sources on AliExpress.

I also use cleat covers.

Yeah, my boss, who is a neurovirologist, said that too. Most reassuring.

I sometimes wonder how many viruses are out there that cause subclinical disease - that is, something that makes you sick but not bad enough or for long enough for anyone to seek medical help. Back when The Boys were little, the Older Boy woke up in the middle of the night and barfed all over his bed. As we cleaned him and the bed up, we prepared ourselves for a sleepless night with more barfing. But no, he fell right back to sleep, and woke up in the morning not only feeling better, but actually hungry.

The next night, his little brother did the exact same thing - wake up, barf once, fall back asleep, wake up hungry.

I concluded that there's a "Wake Up And Barf Once Virus" that nobody would ever study because nobody ever goes to the doctor about it.

Pfizer reported that initial studies with vaccinee blood seem to indicate the response the vaccine elicits does protect against the UK and South African variants. Fingers crossed, but I sure hope everyone's working on multivalent vaccines and a really fast way to get them out there.

No. I was poking fun, suggesting that your comment (some people never get beyond the ******* stage) was political jab.

wut

In addiction to the fact he's only been there one year, and he's shown good judgement by jettisoning the OC and DC coaches, and we were absent our top QB, McCarthy is just an all-around better fit for the team than Peterson.

Yeah, I do hope that even if the spike protein is slightly different, the epitope is conserved. I know enough to ask about it but don't know enough to comment on it.

Nah, not at all, as it's not political.

Not political, just a sad statement of fact. My wife just happened to mention this morning how fortunate "normal" people are to not be born stupid. #countyourblessings

Let's just say we're lucky that SARS-CoV2 hasn't figured out what HIV did - decorate your envelope protein with immunodominant, non-neutralizing epitopes while hiding the neutralizing epitope in a cleft.
