Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Those look good, and I remember he was looking for a medium. Are those compression?

I think so. Also you can just slather the chamois creme right on the seat.

Is it the weight , my butt, or the bike!?!? - Page 2

NOT BIBS sound like health hazards:

"Never wear [NOT BIBS] except on the bike. Do not drive to and from events wearing [NOT BIBS]. If you are off the bike, get your [NOT BIBS] off. Wearing [NOT BIBS] for an extended time under street clothes and while driving produces a clammy, moist environment on the skin making it more delicate and susceptible to irritation. Put your [NOT BIBS] on right before you ride and get them off right after- don’t stand around in [NOT BIBS] before or after your ride."

Can you wear NOT BIBS once with the puffy thing on the inside, and then turn them inside out to wear your NOT BIBS again with the puffy thing on the outside? Seems like a good way to get 2 uses out of them before washing.

Thoughts?

I find that the thickness of the pad has little to do with comfort. For some it might but not for me.

Some of the most comfortable NOT BIBS I have ever worn were triathlon (gasp!) NOT BIBS with a very thin pad relative to cycling specific NOT BIBS.

I often ride in padless Tyr tri shorts. Super comfy!

I just returned a set of not NOT BIBS a few weeks ago. All it cost me was the $4 to ship it and the time it took to write a note to nashbar telling them I didn't like them.

I thought I liked my $40 NOT BIBS until I bought some $150 bibs.

No more shorts for me; bibs forever.

You know, I tried this, but it wasn't uncomfortable enough. I think I need to put a hedgehog in the chamois or something. It's quite the conundrum. I mean, it's all about the suffer score, right? Right. On a related topic, I can't find the "hedgehog in chamois" checkbox on Strava. Can someone help?

I just found these NOT BIBS as a result of reading an entirely different thread on the 41. Anyone familiar with this brand?

I have two pair of those. My Zoot NOT BIBS have a very thin pad that looks slightly like those sheepskin seatcovers back in the day and those too are super comfortable.

Just get the 8" NOT BIBS and NOT TRI riders don't even notice.

The one pair of NOT BIBS that I ever bought were PI, but I'm not sure of what model they were. They lasted a good long time. I still have them in the basement for times when I'm on the trainer. They're at the point where I'd risk arrest if I wore them in public.

Yeah. the fabric in the back is kinda thin by now.
