Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Those are "features". We wouldn't want to deprive anyone of those.

...everyone keeps mentioning "Loctite" as the miracle fix for BB30. Loctite only makes about forty eleven different products. I think the low strength bedding compound is the recommended by the makers fix, but in all honesty, I wish Cannondale would just publicly repudiate the thing as another disastrous mistake and move on. #likethatsgonnahappen

Oh man, you can say that again. I couldn't believe what those specialty grades cost.

Most folks say to use the green 609 grade for bedding bearings and PF30 cups. But FSA recommends the 243 medium strength, oil resistant grade. Either way it is important to use one of the primers. I chose the 609 even though I have an FSA PF30 bottom bracket and the 7649 primer because it matches the green 609 compound in color. Seriously! I mean they seem to be matched to use together.

never mind, its too damn early to have been at work for 2-½ hours already, and to have been here for a lot of that time, whilst doing actual work, honest its work...

I had a Cannondale CAADX with a BB30 and it was fine. I think it started clicking one day and less than a 1/4 turn on the crank and it was perfect again. But we did have customer with the occasional creak. But after buying the Domane and working with the Shimano Hollowtech stuff, that just needs to be on every single bike. Seriously. It's pretty much perfect. I understand the theory behind having a larger spindle diameter, but it just don't make a big enough difference.

Although I do have Campy Ultra-Torque cranks on the Bianchi, and other than the PITA bearing removal and install, it's a very simple system that works well.
