Another Garin bike....
This orphan belonged to a woman I met at a yard sale on the weekend. Found by serendipity ; a woman at a the sale overheard me asking if there was a bike or a ukulele to be had in the sale and she piped up to say that she had one at her home I was welcome to see the next day. She had frightened herself on it many years ago by spinning out on a patch of gravel and had put it away.
I did a search on the Bike Forum for mention of other Garin bikes and only found one: a posting by me from 2011 and no others, so I guess these bikes are not common. The bike has neat high-visibility glow-in-the-dark reflective decals.
Anyway, for your amusement, a 1973 Garin.
Nervar cranks and chain rings.
Dia Compe brake callipers & levers.
Normandy hubs.
Rigida Superchromix (dated 1973).
Pivo stem.
High-tensile frame tubes, forks, seat stays, chain stays.
Huret derailleurs.
Suntour levers.
Binky
