Cape Cod rail trail extension...

A while back I read that part of the rail trail extension was opened starting at the new bridge in Dennis. After the political pictures were taken it was closed. Any news on when it will reopen?

Now open..

Rode the trail over the weekend.. At the Dennis end the bridge over Rt 134 us open and you can go about a mile past that. They are working on the bridge over Bass River..

Yeah, that was a very pleasant surprise yesterday. (Unfortunately, didn't realize my camera was in the wrong mode until after the ride.) The bridge over 134 is quite attractive.

The trail ends just 200 meters from the Bass River right now.

Bass river bridge

I see that the bridge over the Bass river has been installed. Does anyone know when that section of trail will open?

I was on the CCRT last week the trail is .89 miles from the Dennis Parking lot. My question is how far will the trail finally go?

All the way to Yarmouth.

The northern extension is still aspirational.

Just shy of a 4 mile extension, by the end of the year-ish? Bass River bicycle bridge installed.

baby steps

nice that they will continue to have a campground there. that's a pretty amazing place. 1st dirt road after Paines is the unmarked dirt road to Duck Pond. but shhhhh don't tell anyone

the only thing I didn't like about Paines was that they had an auto curfew, meaning: if you came back too late, you had to walk in & leave your car in the front lot
